July (the good month)

July was a good month. Elise was born, Mateo loved his new sister, I was on leave from work for 2 months, and things seemed...easy. Yup, I said easy. Elise seemed to have slept the month away. She awoke to eat, get changed, and find a new position to fall back into slumber. And it lasted all month. It was a great opportunity to adjust to having two kids in the house and get Mateo used to sharing mommy and daddy. We tried to do normal things, like continue taking him to the park, the pool, and his favorite - playing with his choo-choos. It seemed a little too good to be true, as Mateo was...well...a challenging baby. He cried - a lot - and it began a week after he was born. So we thought as month one was coming to a close with Elise that we were in the clear. But, then August happened. You'll have to stay tuned to read about that. Until then, here are some memorable times from "the good month."
We took Mateo to the Summerfest event at a park near our house. Here we are riding a small train.

Mateo the soccer star!

Little angel.

So pretty!
Already a duck fan! :)

This was the first time I let Mateo hold his sister. He was SOOOOO thrilled!

Mmmm...ice cream!
