Sometimes a mom just needs to pat herself on the back. Today, is one of those days. I was with the kids most of the day and could only manage to get them to the library where Mateo 'got in trouble' with the librarian for swinging a string with a wooden block attached to it, and Elise took a nasty spill and hit her head on a hollow wall that was so loud I'm pretty sure the entire library heard the crash and subsequent cries. I managed to make it out of there alive, barely. After getting them home and cooking dinner, and doing baths, and playing choo choos, and doing story time, and getting them to bed (all solo I might add), I got to cooking for tomorrow. I got over ambitious and made apple dumplings with a sauce...
and a mock up of Wienerschnitzel chili for my aunt who has had a craving...
and mashed sweet potatoes for tomorrow's dinner. I felt like the Pioneer Woman of Oregon.
Oh, and I did Level 2 of Hard Core Yoga this morning. Yes, I rock. Okay, enough about myself. Here's what happened when I asked Mateo to clean up his trains...I had to laugh. As the saying goes, "the days are long, but the years are short..."
